Promoting wellbeing is at the heart of paddleboarding so there's simply nothing better than being in the 'natural environment', embracing nature at it's best on sheltered, calm waters.

Being on the river has proven to be a big influence on our paddlers decision to learn with us. We give you the opportunity to learn & develop your paddling skills in the 'real' environment, rather than a man-made lake or deep, exposed reservoir. Under our expert guidance, you'll become knowledgeable & skilled in all aspects of river paddling, such as river levels, rules, navigating other river 'traffic' & awareness of environmental & natural hazards.

As well as direct access to the river, we've got the added benefit of utilising the 'beach' which provides beginner/nervous paddlers the opportunity to safely and gently experience being on a paddleboard with the reassurance that they are in shallow water whilst learning essential self-rescue techniques.

We've got ample free parking, toilets and changing facilities. You're welcome to enjoy the riverside setting with a picnic or it's a gentle 10 minute walk back along The Thames Path to either The Rose Revived or Maybush pubs if you fancy a well-deserved drink/meal!

Protecting Your Safety

Naturally, being on the river we continually monitor environmental issues that will affect your safety & welfare, such as river levels, flow and quality. Unfortunately water quality has always been - and will always be - a concern for us. You can be rest assured that in addition to monitoring Thames Water activities, we regularly test & analyse the water quality to ensure you are safe out on the water. Please do contact us if you have any concerns.
